Jan 1     Paul and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Fair cold day.

Jan 2     I was at the Corners today, helped to prepare the Brick Hall for New Year's Ball. I am at the dance tonight. Cloudy cold day.

Jan 3     Nothing but chores done today. Grace Euler is here today and yesterday. She is nineteen years old today. Fair cold day.

Jan 4     I hauled in some wood this morning. Nothing done this evening. Cold blustery day.

Jan 5     Coldest day this winter. Zero this morning. I went to town this evening. Very cold day.

Jan 6     Very cold day today. I went to Corners this evening to Trustee Meeting. Snowy blustery day.

Jan 7     We are all home today. Paw's folks and Frank Baker and Flora ate dinner here. This is the coldest day this winter. 16 below zero this morning.

Jan 8     Nothing done today. Cold snowy blustery day.

Jan 9     I helped Paw drag in some logs for wood today. Cold blustery day.

Jan 10     I went to Balser Oliger's Funeral this morning. He died Sunday night. This evening Paw and Frank Baker cut logs for me and I dragged them home. Fair cold day.

Jan 11     This morning I helped Paw cut logs and Frank B. dragged them home. Snow blizzard this evening and tonight.

Jan 12     I went to town today. Fair cold day. It is reported that last night James Orell froze to death in snow blizzard.

Jan 13     I went to Jobe's sale today. Very cold day. The snow is about 15 inches

Jan 14     Paul and I went to church in sled this morning. This evening we all went over to Grandpa Stewart's for a sleigh ride. Fair cold day.

Jan 15     Nothing done today. Very cold weather.

Jan 16     Geo. Baker came up this morning and we killed a beef this evening. Fair cold day.

Jan 17     I hauled in load wood this morning. This evening I done some roofing on silo. Warmer and cloudy day.

Jan 18     Nothing done today. The rain last night and today has melted about all the deep snow away. The creeks are all out big.

Jan 19     I went to town today. Fair cold day.

Jan 20     I hauled load of sawdust from Hayden this morning. This evening I hauled in load of corn and fodder. Fair cool day.

Jan 21     Paul and I went to church this morning. This evening went over to Paw's. Fair cool day.

Jan 22     This morning Bess and I went over to her Father's and helped dress two hogs. This evening I helped saw wood for G. W. Howell. Fair cool day.

Jan 23     Today Bess and I went over to her Father's and helped finish the butchering. Fair cool day.

Jan 24     I went to George Baker's after Jersey heifer calf today. Fair cool day.

Jan 25     I hauled out manure today. Fair cool day.

Jan 28     I went to church this morning. Rain and sleet today. Our priest, John Sheuth is sick and has a priest in his place today till he is well.

Jan 30     Paw helped me saw wood this morning. This evening I went to Hayden after load sawdust and barrel salt. Cloudy cold day.

Feb 1     Nothing done today. Bess and I went over to her Father's this afternoon. Snowy blustery day.

Feb 2     I went to town today. Cold blustery snowy day.

Feb 3     I helped Emma Euler dress a beef today. Snowy cold blustery day.

Feb 5     Nothing done today. Ray March and George and Joseph Baker were here for dinner today. Fair cold day.

Feb 9     I went to town early this morning, then we went to Ed Beaty's to birthday dinner on Ed and also Emma Euler. Emma and children and Mr & Mrs. Beaty, James Marsh and Bess and I were there. Fair cold day.

Feb 10     Nothing done today. I went to Hayden to convention this afternoon. Fair cold day.

Feb 11     Paul and I went to church this morning. We all ate dinner at Paw's and spent the evening there. Frank Baker and Flora are going back to Indianapolis tomorrow. Cold and cloudy day.

Feb 12     Nothing done today. This evening Bess and I went over to her Father's. Cloudy cold day.

Feb 13     George Baker and I went to Butlerville on a horse trade. Fair cold day.

Feb 14     Today I helped to prepare the Brick Hall for a ball tonight. Fair cool day.

Feb 15     Today I cleaned out the stables and hauled on wheat field. Fair cool day.

Feb 16     Today I was roofing on the silo and tore away the scaffold. Fair warmer weather.

Feb 17     Bess and I went to John Wrape's burial today. He died last Thursday 15. Fair warmer.

Feb 18     Today we all went over to Emma D. for dinner. Pleasant day. The roads are getting very soft.

Feb 19     Nothing done today. Rainy cool day.

Feb 20     I went to Sam Moore's sale at Hayden today. Ed Baker came home with me. He is going to work for me this summer. Cloudy cool day.

Feb 21     Nothing done today. Snow sleet and ice last night and today.

Feb 22     Nothing done this morning. This evening Ed and I begun to saw wood. Snowy sleety weather.

Feb 23     I went to town this morning. Ed is splitting wood. This evening we sawed wood. Warmer and thawing.

Feb 24     This morning Ed and I helped Paw ring and snout his hogs and then did mine the same. Cloudy and cool day.

Feb 25     Paul and I went to church this morning. Then went to Paw's for dinner. Cool cloudy day. Raining tonight.

Feb 26     Ed and I sawed wood today. The creeks are very high today. Cloudy little rain today.

Feb 27     Ed hauled out manure this morning. I went to the Option Election. This evening we sawed wood. Fair cold day.

Feb 28     This morning Ed and I made some posts and hauled them home. This evening we sawed wood. Fair cool day.

Feb 29     This morning Ed and I hauled in the last of corn and fodder. This evening Ed split wood. Bess and I went over to her Father's. Fair cold day.

Mar 1     This morning I went to town. Ed split wood today. I split wood this evening. Cloudy cold day.

Mar 20     This morning Ed and I put a tile Titler(?) in the cistern. This evening we greased harness. Rainy cold stormy day.

Mar 21     Ed and I sawed wood today. Cloudy cold day.

Mar 22     I am sick today. Ed is splitting wood this morning. This evening he went to chopping at Jess Cook's. Fair cool day.

Mar 23     I went to town today. Ed hauled out manure today. Cloudy cool rain tonight.

Mar 24     We are all home today. Emma D.(think this is Emma Euler?) and her children were here today. Will Bertram and Lena B were home today. Rainy cold day.

Mar 25     I made a wagon doubletree this morning. Ed is chopping wood this morning. This evening we hitched Mollie colt for first time and went over to Bess' Father's. Fair cool day.

Mar 26     Ed and I sawed wood today. Fair warmer day.

Mar 27     Bess and I went to Henry Ewing's and Will Justis' Sale today. I bought the organ. Ed hauled sawdust today. Warm cloudy.

Mar 28     Rainy day. Ed is greasing harness this morning. I am doing little chores. Nothing done this evening for rain. Today is Paul's last day school.

Mar 29     Nothing done today. Ed is sick with headache and cold. Rainy cold day.

Mar 30     Ed split wood today. Bess and I went to town today. Fair warmer day.

Mar 31     The children and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Fair and warmer.

Apr 1     We hauled two loads wheat to Old Vernon today. $1.00 per bu. Cloudy some rain.

Apr 2     Nothing done today. Rain snowy day.

Apr 3     Ed and I put a tile drain through the garden and into the cistern. Fair cool day.

Apr 4     I hauled load wheat to Vernon today. Ed went to Seymour. Fair cool day.

Apr 5     Ed and I hauled 2 loads of wheat to Vernon for Grandpa Stewart. Fair warm day.

Apr 6     Ed took last load wheat to town today. Bess and I went to town today. Fair high winds.

Apr 7     Palm Sunday. We all went to church then went to Baker's for dinner. Cold cloudy day.

Apr 8     Ed hauled out manure today. I helped to prepare the Brick Hall for the Easter Ball. Fair cool day.

Apr 9     Today we hauled two loads of hogs to Lovett. 12 head to J. M. Morman. Fair cool day.

Apr 10     This morning we plowed the garden and filled the tile ditch. This evening Ed took the Jersey cow to Baker's to breed, also bred Bettie. I took May and Maud to Stan's. Bred Maud to Burkhart horse. Fair warm day.

Apr 11     This morning we unloaded carload of fertilizer. This evening we planted potatoes and made some garden. Fair warm day.

Apr 12     Ed is harrowing a wheat field to prepare it for clover seed. I sowed seed late this evening. I was at Oligus(?) sale today and bought a pilot disk cultivator. Fair hot day.

Apr 13     I went to town this morning. Ed hauled home load of sawdust. This evening we rebuilt a pike culvert which was washed out. Warm little rain today.

Apr 14     We went to church this morning. This afternoon went over to Grandpa Stewart's. Fair warm day.

Apr 15     We sowed about 3 acres of oats today. Fair cool day.

Apr 16     We planted the potatoes today. Fair warm day.

Apr 17     Nothing but chores and little fence repairing done. Rainy cool day.

Apr 18     This morning Ed and I stretched yard fence. This evening took Lottie Mare to Baker's to breed to Jack. Ed is repairing rail fence. Cloudy cool.

Apr 19     Bess and I went to town today. Ed took Coffie to Baker's to breed to Jack. Fair cool day.

Apr 20     Ed and I cleaned the stables this morning. This evening we went to Hayden after 2 loads sawdust. Fair warmer day.

Apr 21     We all went to Zion Church this morning. Home this evening. Cold cloudy some rain.

Apr 22     Ed is fixing fence today. I took May mare to Stan's to breed to Burkhart horse. Cloudy cold and rain showers.

Apr 23     Today we are helping to build a field fence for Paw Stewart. Fair cool day.

Apr 24     We began to plow for corn in Bottoms today. Plowing an old pasture. Fair cool day.

Apr 25     We are plowing today. Cloudy cool.

Apr 26     Nothing done today. Very hard rains fell. The creeks are very high tonight.

Apr 27     This morning we put in some new yard fence. This evening I went to town. Ed is cleaning up the old picket fence. Fair cool day.

Apr 28     Today we all went to N. Vernon church. The Knights of Columbus took in a class this day. Cloudy rainy.

Apr 29     Rainy cloudy day. Nothing but some chores done today. I took Nell mare to Baker's this evening.

Apr 30     This morning we are repairing fence. This evening I hauled load sawdust and Ed hauled out manure. Cloudy cool day.

May 1     Today we repaired fence. Fair warm day.

May 2     Today we dug up some of the cellar tile drain which was broke down and repaired it. Fair warm day.

May 3     This morning we went over in Bottoms to dig a ditch along road to drain water out of the field. This evening Bess and I went to town. Ed hauled home some wood and posts. Fair warm day.

May 4     Today I took Maud for second time to St. Ann's and Ed took Bettie to Baker's for second time. Warm cloudy day.

May 5     Paul and I went to Church this morning. We went to Paw's for dinner. George Baker and Family and Peter Speck were there also. Sultry and rainy day.

May 6     Rain all day today. Nothing but chores done today. Yesterday we turned the cattle on pasture and Saturday night we fed the last of the silage and stock looks well.

May 7     Today we hauled logs to sawmill for lumber. Fair warm day.

May 8     Today we are putting a new cellar steps in the cellar. Fair cool day.

May 9     Same as yesterday. Fair cool day.

May 10     After two weeks of wet weather, we began to plow again. Pleasant day.

May 11     Rain all day today. Bess and I went to town this evening. The creeks are high.

May 12     Rainy cold day. Home this morning. This evening we went over to Grandpa Stewart's.

May 13     This morning we went over in Bottoms after load sand. This evening we are working on the cellar floor. Fair cool day.

May 14     Today we finished the cellar steps and made a new door. Cloudy, little rain.

May 15     Today we cut saw logs and hauled to mill and hauled home some lumber. Fair cool day.

May 16     Ascension Day. Ed and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Rainy cold day.

May 17     This morning Ed and I repaired some fence. This evening Bess and I went to town. Ed is hauling some rock on pike. Fair cool day.

May 18     I went to town after some seed corn and a new bedstead. Ed is splitting wood this morning. This evening we plowed the potatoes in garden, also hoed onions and cabbage. Fair cool day.

May 19     We all went over to Zion today. Ate dinner at Emmie's. Fair and warm day.

May 20     Today Ed and I finished plowing the old pasture over in Bottoms. Fair warm day.

May 21     Today we began to plow in Long Bottoms. Joel Magel is helping plow, driving third team. Fair warm day.

May 22     Today we are plowing in Long Bottoms. Made first plant in Long Bottoms this evening. 6 acres. Fair warm day.

May 23     We are plowing and planting today. Fair warm day.

May 24     We finished plowing and planting the Long Bottoms today. This evening we began to harrow and plant the old pasture field. Sultry, little rain today.

May 26     Ed and I went to church this morning. This afternoon Bess and I went to Baker's. Fair warm day.

May 27     Today we began to plow in the Sullivan Bottoms and planted 4 acres. Fair warm day.

May 29     I went to Baker's with Lottie today. Ed is doing some work here. Rainy day.

Jun 2     We are home this morning. This evening we went over to Henry Burgmeyer's to see their baby, born last Tuesday. Fair cool day.

Jun 4     This morning we finished planting corn in the Bottoms. Joel Magal(Megal) has helped drive third team for past eleven days. This evening we began to plow on Peterbaugh's place. Will put out about 7 acres. Fair cool day.

Jun 10     This morning Ed and I picked 21 quarts of cherries. This evening we plowed up the potato patch and planted to corn the potatoes were not good. Did not come up. Fair cool day. This evening I bought a young Jersey cow off Maw for $25. Fair cool day.

Jun 11     Today we hauled out manure took dressed on corn. Hauled this manure out of Grandpa Stewart's stables. Fair cool day.

Jun 12     Today we hauled out manure at home. Fair warm day.

Jun 13     Ed finished hauling out manure this morning. I went to town. This evening we began to plow corn first time in Long Bottoms. Hot sultry.

Jun 14     Rain today. We loaded load hay this morning. This evening Ed took hay to town and I took May mare to St. Ann's to breed second time.

Jun 15     Rain this morning. Ed mowed some weeds. This evening he went to Hoyer's(?) picnic. Bess and I went to town. Fair warm afternoon.

Jun 16     Paul and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Fair warm day.

Jun 17     Rainy day. Bess and I went over to her Father's this evening.

Jun 19     This morning we set posts for fence. This evening Ed repaired fence. Bess and I went to Talor Sullivan's burial at Zion. He died last Monday eve, 17. Fair cool day.

Jun 20     We plowed corn today. The Long Bottoms is all plowed over first time. Fair cool day. Hard rain tonight.

Jun 21     Today I took load hay to Seymour. Ed is doing some work around here. Some rain today.

Jun 22     This morning we made a boardwalk from kitchen to milk house. This evening Bess and I went to town. Ed mowed weeds along the pike. Fair cool day.

Jun 30     Ed, Paul and I went to church this morning. Went over to Paw's this evening. Will Bertram and wife went back to Indianapolis this evening. Lena and her John went to Cincinnati last evening. Hot sultry day. Nice rain tonight.

Jul 1     Ed is plowing corn this morning. I cut clover this evening, we put up two loads hay. Cloudy sultry.

Jul 2     Same as yesterday. Put in one load hay this evening. Some rain this evening to bother haying.

Jul 3     Today Ed plowed corn all day. I plowed this morning. This evening I went to help prepare the picnic ground for picnic at Corners. Hot sultry day.

Jul 4     Rain about all day. Nothing done, about 4 o'clock the weather cleared away and we all went to Fourth of July. Big time this night.

Jul 8     This morning we plowed corn till rain stopped us. They we cut wheat. Hot sultry day.

Jul 10     I am laying by corn in Long Bottoms. Ed is done 2 plowing in Sullivan Bottoms. Hot sultry day.

Jul 13     Today we finished 2nd plowing in Sullivan Bottoms also finished laying by the sod on old pasture. Bess and I went to town this evening. Hot sultry with good rains.

Jul 14     Paul and I went to church this morning. Went over to Paw's this evening. Charlie & Minnie Kellermeyer are there and will go away tonight. Very hot day.

Jul 15     We plowed corn this morning. This evening we began to cut oats. The rain stopped us.

Jul 16     This morning we plowed corn. This evening we finished cutting oats. Then Bess and I went to Hayden. Fair hot day.

Jul 17     This morning I cut clover. Ed plowed corn. Rained this evening. Nothing done.

Jul 18     This morning I cut four acres oats for Jess Cook. Ed plowed corn. This evening we took up 2 loads clover hay.

Jul 19     Today we are laying by corn in Sullivan Bottoms. Joe Stewart was home fishing today. We were with him while after dinner. Fair cool day.

Jul 20     Today we finished laying by corn in Bottoms. I went to town this evening. Fair warm.

Jul 21     Ed and I went to church this morning. Had a hard rain this afternoon.

Jul 22     We began to cut and put up hay today. Little cloudy this morning. Fair evening.

Jul 23     Sam Lockard is helping put up hay today. Fair hot day.

Jul 24     Today Ed and I are putting up hay for Grandpa Stewart. Fair hot day.

Jul 25     Same as yesterday. Fair cooler.

Jul 26     This morning I helped finish Grandpa Stewart's hay. 15 loads. Ed mowed hay at home this evening. We put up 2 loads. Fair cool day.

Jul 27     Bess and I went to town this morning. Ed mowed hay this evening. We finished putting up timothy hay. Have some clover yet to put up and have some timothy yet to cut with binder to thrash. Fair warm day.

Jul 28     Paul and I went to church this morning. Home this evening. Warm and cloudy. Little rain this afternoon.

Jul 29     Ed plowed corn today. I plowed and hoed in garden this morning. This evening I went to church and helped put up hay for Father Shewth. Fair cool day.

Jul 30     Ed is mowing clover and I finished laying by corn this morning. All done with corn now. This evening we put up hay. Fair cool day.

Jul 31     Early this morning I took old red cow to Seymour, sold to Jack Loov(?). I came back on freight at noon and helped Ed finish putting up day. Done haying now. Fair cool day.

Aug 1     We all went to Jennings Co. Fair today. Fair cool day.

Aug 2     This morning we are cutting timothy hay with binder to thrash. This evening we went over to Emma D. and helped thrash. Fair cool day.

Aug 3     This morning we finished the timothy this evening. We took the binder back to Grandpa Stewart's and brought home some corn. 20 bu which he gave me for putting up his hay. Fair cool day.

Aug 4     We all went to Grandpa Stewart's for dinner. Fair cool day.

Aug 5     Today we thrashed Ed Stewart's. A. Gahan(Gannon), Frank Fisher. Fair cool day.

Aug 6     Today we thrashed Jacob Burgmeyer. Myself and Paw all done thrashing now. Wheat is very poor this year. I had 35 bu wheat, 53 oats and 8 timothy. Fair cool day.

Aug 7     Some rain today. Cleaned over some wheat and grass seed today. Also mowed some weeds.

Aug 8     Putting up some new pasture fence today. Cloudy threatening day.

Aug 9     Still putting up some fence. Rainy day.

Aug 10     This morning we finished the fence work. This evening we cleaned out the stables. Cloudy cool day.

Aug 11     Paul and I went to church this morning. This afternoon we all went to Aunt Jane Hartwell's. Fair cool day.

Aug 12     Today we are mowing weeds along pike and field fences. Cloudy cool day.

Aug 13     Rainy morning and this evening. We began to plow for wheat this afternoon.

Aug 30     This morning we finished plowing for grass. This evening Ed is harrowing and I hauled load sawdust to church for picnic next Monday. Fair and very hot day.
